ALFRETON: Rent rage lands teen in court

From the courts

From the courts

ANGER over rent arrears led to a teen smashing holes into a wall at his home.

Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard how a housing manager told Ricky Oxley he might not be welcome if his rent was not paid.

Becky Mahon, prosecuting, said Oxley became aggressive and the manager called police and when they arrived two holes were found in a wall.

Officers found 18 year-old Oxley and he said he had thrown a tin at the wall and punched it and he apologised.

Oxley, of Cedar Avenue, Alfreton, admitted damaging property on December 20 and breaching a one-year conditional discharge for assault. He was handed a nine-month supervision order and must pay £50 compensation and a £60 victim surcharge. Oxley said he had had money problems with the Jobcentre and he wants anger management.
