ALFRETON: Offenders punished after robbery and theft

Andrew Taylor, 24, of Ingoldmells, Skegness, pleaded guilty to a robbery in Hillcote.

Andrew Taylor, 24, of Ingoldmells, Skegness, pleaded guilty to a robbery in Hillcote.

TWO men who got into a house in Alfreton have been sentenced for a robbery and a theft.

Derby Crown Court heard on Friday, February 8, how Andrew Taylor, 24, was jailed for 88 months for robbery and Dale Purvis, 21, received an eight-month custodial sentence, suspended for 18 months, for theft.

Police told how the incident involved a 65-year-old victim, at a house, on New Lane, Hilcote, who feigned a heart attack before the offenders fled. The offenders entered the house, on June 26, last year.

Taylor, of Ingoldmells, Skegness, pleaded guilty to robbery. Purvis, of George Street, South Normanton, denied robbery but pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of theft.
