FIREFIGHTERS rescued a trapped female casualty from an overturned 4x4 vehicle after it crashed on the M1 motorway near Bolsover.
The crash happened on the southbound carriageway, between junctions 30 and 29A, about 7.45am, on Thursday, September 8.
A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said: “The incident involved a 4x4 on its roof with one female casualty trapped.
“She was extricated by fire service personnel and the area was closed to allow an air ambulance to land.”
The female casualty was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre, in Nottingham, by air ambulance and a further male casualty who was involved in the incident was also taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital by a road ambulance.
Staveley and Bolsover firefighters, who attended the collision, made the area safe for other motorists within an hour.
