STAVELEY firefighters put out a suspected arson attack after about 20 small fir trees were discovered ablaze.
The fire was spotted near Lansbury Avenue, at Mastin Moor, near Staveley, about 9.30pm, on Monday, September 12.
Temporary watch manager Gavin Marathalingam, at Staveley fire station, said: “We’ve been to a series of similar fires in the area and spoken with residents and police and believe this was a suspected deliberate ignition.
“There was also a suspicious, small fire on a bench nearby which was also put out.”
