A TEENAGER who crashed her car after a row with her boyfriend had drunk double the limit, Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard.
At 6am, on December 2, police were alerted that a Ford Ka had been abandoned in Williamthorpe Road, Holmewood, following the collision.
Jessica Baumforth, 18, had been taken into a nearby home after hitting a parked Ford Focus and a BMW Z4.
Baumforth told police she had drunk seven vodka and lemonades and returned home by taxi at 3am. Becky Mahon, prosecuting, said: “She said she argued with her partner and decided to leave the house to avoid further confrontation.” Baumforth, of Ralley Close, Holmewood, admitted drink-driving. The bench fined her £274, with £85 costs, and imposed a 20-month road ban. She told the court she wasn’t surprised to find herself over the limit.
