Council forks out for revamp

A council has cooked up a scheme to improve the kitchens at two Dales schools.

Brassington Primary and Grindleford Primary are among schools receiving their share of £164,000 of funding from Derbyshire County Council to update catering facilities.

The authority set aside £50,000 to refurbish the kitchen at Brassington Primary School and £18,000 to pay for improved layout and upgrades.Councillor Kevin Gillott said: “We’re facing the biggest squeeze on budgets we’ve known but we are committed to helping our schools offer pupils the best facilities they can. I am pleased to be able to help improve the kitchens.”
