Four teenagers have been given the chance to increase their skills and knowledge by joining Bolsover District Council as apprentices.

Apprentice plumber Jake Rawson, electrician Joshua Gozzard, joiner Tyler Griffiths and painter Christopher Clayton have joined the council’s housing maintenance team where they will gain work experience whilst also studying for qualifications.

Bolsover District Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing, Coun John Ritchie, said: “It’s never easy for young people to get onto the work ladder so we are doing all we can to help them by providing them with the necessary skills.”

The four will shadow fully qualified Council operatives on a day-to-day basis for the next two to three years.
