Cops crackdown on nuisance motorbikes

Police in Staveley have seized a nuisance bike after receiving a number of calls from members of the community.

Officers from the Staveley Safer Neighbourhood Team took action after receiving calls that a motorbike was being ridden along trail paths and old railway lines on Monday, July 18.

They searched the area and recovered the green pit bike from an address in Staveley.

Safer Neighbourhoods officer PC Ian Biggin said: “I would like to thank members of the public for getting in touch with us and helping us to find the rider and remove this nuisance bike from our community.

“We would urge people to continue to ring us about nuisance motorbikes and this result shows we will take action.”

The bike was seized under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act.
