‘Confused’ Royal patient set fire to bedding

A SMALL fire broke out when a ‘confused’ hospital patient set fire to bedding.

Robinson ward at Chesterfield Royal Hospital has been temporarily closed this morning after the incident at around 4am on Tuesday. Nobody was hurt and the damage contained to a bed.

The fire brigade and police also attended the site.

It is hoped that patients will be moved back from Staveley ward later today.
