Kind-hearted social media users have come forward in their droves to offer help for the young girl who survived this morning’s horror blaze in North Wingfield.
On the Derbyshire Times’ Facebook site, people have been paying tribute to the two adults and two children who died in the Williamthorpe Road fire, with many offering support for the seven-year-old girl who survived and is now being treated for minor injuries at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
One poster, Charlotte Crossley, said: “This is so sad, this little girl has been left with nothing. Is there a way we can make a donation to try and help her? Even if to just buy her a teddy bear or a new set of pjs?”
Another, Tracy Shaw, said: Yes. I’m in. An outfit each, or toys. She needs everything, we cant give her her family, but we can get together and give her some belongings.”
Becky Sale Page Furness, added: “Can’t imagine the nightmares she’s going to be having, would love to make her Christmas as nice as possible and fund raising or gifts would be a great thing Charlotte. RIP to the four lives lost, sleep well xxx.”
Police and fire services are currently holding a press conference following the fire, which tore through the house at around 5am this morning.
Williamthorpe Road will be closed for several hours and local diversions are in operation.
As the investigation continues further information will be released to the public.
