Community groups in Bolsover District are being invited to apply to a new grant scheme to help realise their aspirations.

Two Limestone Journeys Community Scheme grants are available including Community Conservation Grants and Landscape Community Grants.

The grants are open to community groups, schools, parish councils and charities. People can contact the Scheme Office to find out if their group is eligible.

This is year one for the grants scheme with a further 4 years’ funding being available to groups after this round of grants which ends in December 2011.

Cal Warren, Limestone Journeys Scheme manager, said: “we are keen to fund work that enhances habitats and helps communities to develop their local spaces to develop a sense of place and community.

“We would like to fund a variety of projects and want as many local community groups and schools to apply as possible”.

Applying for the grant is easy and straight forward. For more information and for an application form please contact the scheme office on 01909 720 378.

Andy Cranch, scheme Development Officer, said: “We are very excited to launch the Limestone Journeys Community Grants Scheme and encourage community groups to apply to help them achieve their goals.”
