FITNESS suite users at Clowne Sports Centre can go all digital when undertaking their fitness regimes – thanks to the mywellness cloud - a new exercise and training programme.
The mywellness cloud application has been installed at the Bolsover District Council run centre allowing users to create their own training programme in seconds without supervision.
There are 122-different workouts to choose from and users can specify what type of fitness they are looking for as well as how many times a week they want to exercise.
The application then provides a tailor-made training programme to fit in with the users’ requirements. These programmes are downloaded from a kiosk in the fitness suite to an interactive key which is then inserted into each piece of
fitness equipment which reads it and guides the user through their chosen fitness programme.
Every time the user undertakes a workout, it is stored on the key and the data is automatically sent to the mywellness server where it plots the exercise and gives feedback to the user. The mywellness cloud can be accessed at anytime from the mywellness.com website or mywellness mobile app.
Bolsover District Council’s Cabinet Member for Social Inclusion Cllr Ann
Syrett said: “Fitness suite members told us this is what they wanted and they can’t wait to get started and using it. Having this app is like having a virtual personal trainer. It knows exactly what you have done and can give you tips and hints along the way to help improve your workout.”
The centre has a 40-station fitness suite, kitted out with the latest Technogym equipment that allows several different exercises to be undertaken on the same machine.
Anyone who wishes to use this new application must sign a Data Protection agreement form and purchase a key from the centre’s reception for £10.
