A CAMPAIGNER had a close shave for charity.

Carlin Toth, of Clay Cross, had her hair dyed bright pink before having her head completely shaved to raise funds for the Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline, run by Wendy Watson.

The fundraiser took place at Ryleigh’s Hairdressers on Thanet Street, Clay Cross, to support Carlin’s friend who is being treated for breast cancer

Cancer survivors, suffers and sponsors attended the event along with Wendy Watson and her daughter Becky Measures.

The hairdressers hosted a buffet and a raffle took place. Supporters Shannon Briddon and Les Heads then paid £150 and £200 respectively to do the head shave.

So far over £2,000 has been raised for the charity and more events are set to take place.
