Climber rescued after 6 metre fall

A female climber saved by the Edale Mountain Rescue team after falling six metres on the Pegasus Wall between Hathersage and Stanage Edge.

A doctor from the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland air ambulance treated her on the scene before she was carried off in the aircraft to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.

Brian Emment, of Chesterfield, was out walking at the time of the incident, approximately 12pm on Friday, October 31. He said the helicopter remained on the scene for at least an hour.

The condition of the woman is currently unknown.
