CLAY CROSS: Inner Wheel’s insight into Pathways work for homeless people

President Jackie Makinson welcomed members and the speaker to the monthly meeting of Clay Cross Inner Wheel held at Santo’s Higham Farm.

Sean Power from the charity Pathways of Chesterfield gave an interesting and informative talk on the work done for homeless and rootless people. They meet their immediate needs such as providing food warmth and clothing and helping them acquire new life skills. The charity has been chosen by president Jackie as her fund-raising charity for the year.

A MacMillan coffee day was organised by Barbara Marshall at St James Church, Temple Normanton, where homemade cakes were sold and enjoyed. This sociable event raised £350 for the charity.

Overseas service organiser Pam Ward arranged an industrious meeting at St James Church when members packed Christmas shoe boxes and Roy, Joy and toy bags for men, women and children to be sent overseas. Pam thanked members for their generosity.
