Residents and traders are gearing up for Bakewell’s Christmas Weekend featuring a host of festive entertainment and seasonal stalls, including an Italian food school.

One of this year’s new attractions will be a classic motorbike display and procession through the town.

Families can post a letter to Santa, visit his reindeer and look forward to the evening sky being lit with fireworks on the Saturday.

All the fun happens over the weekend of November 24 and 25, with the Christmas tree lights being lit at 4.45pm on the first day.

This year’s festivities have been organised by the Bakewell Events team in conjunction with events management students from Derbyshire University.

Bakewell Christmas Weekend is supported by Bakewell Town Council, Derbyshire Dales District Council, Peak Park Authority and local traders.

A full and detailed list of attractions and schedules over the two days can be seen at www.peakdistrictonline.co.uk and www.whatsonbakewell.co.uk
