Children, parents and grandparents all came together to enjoy an array of festive delights at the Friends of Lea School Christmas Fayre.
Attendees at the event, which was held on December 6, tucked into home-made mince pies, sipped deliciously warmed mulled wine and sampled an array of produce on festive stalls.
Some of the junior children from Lea Primary School entertained everyone with a selection Christmas carols, this was followed by Crich Brass Band performing various festive carols.
Christmas stall holders displayed an array of festive gifts including jewellery, handmade mosaics, cards, handmade decorations, knitted items, handmade chocolates and a craft table provided by Holloway Playgroup which kept the children entertained. There was also a ‘lucky dip’ for children and reindeer food to purchase!
A beautiful home-made Christmas cake was provided by Mrs Janette Smith, a grandparent from the school, which was raffled off on the night
All the children from the school decorated plant pots and planted them with spring bulbs. The pots, compost and bulbs were kindly donated by Wilkinsons of Matlock.
FOLS (Friends of Lea School) thanked Lea Green for their kind generosity in providing the venue for the event and to the Lea Green staff who stayed to help out on the evening.
Thanks also went to all the stall holders who were Nicola Edwards of Amapola, Claire Healey with her handmade jewellery, Danielle from Belissima Jewellery in Matlock, handmade chocolates and fudges by Hilly Wolverson from Darley Bridge, Karina from Studio 61 in Holloway, Rona from the Treat Place at Crich, Gill Nichols with handmade unique crafts, Ann Bell with an array of knitted items and homemade Christmas baskets, Gloria Parfitt for an array of home made festive gifts, hand–made mosaics by Sarah and Katrina from Phoenix Cards which all helped to create a very jolly Christmas atmosphere.
FOLS also expressed their thanks to everyone else involved in making the event a success and hope they will join them in the event again next year.
