A PROUD primary school which has excelled in different areas has received a prestigious award.

Derbyshire County Council presented its Personalised Learning Award to Bramley Vale Primary School, on York Crescent, after staff and pupils completed a tough assessment over two years.

Headteacher Sharon James said: “We’ve had to pass five parts and now we have improved our results year upon year since 2008 and I’m so proud of everyone at our school.

The school was measured on effective teaching, partnerships, learning assessments, curriculum and organising the school and was also assessed by Park Junior School.
