Chiefs back rogue crackdown drive

DERBYSHIRE County Council trading standards officers

are backing a Government campaign to tackle rogue doorstep traders.

The Office of Fair Trading has launched its annual national doorstep selling campaign, which aims to make people aware of their rights if confronted by rogue traders and gives advice on how to deal with them.

The agency offers ten top tips for doorstep buying, which can be found at www.derbyshiretimes.co.uk.

County Cllr Kevin Parkinson, cabinet member for regeneration, said: “The Office of Fair Trading’s tips might seem like common sense – but they could save people from making a costly mistake.”
