Chesterfield woman falls on to railway line

A WOMAN was rushed to hospital after she fell on to a railway line and became trapped between two stationary trains.

Police, fire and ambulance crews attended the incident at Chesterfield Train Station, on Corporation Street, at around 9.40pm last night (Thursday).

A Derbyshire Police spokesman said the 39-year-old, from Barrow Hill, accidentally fell from a platform and landed on the tracks, becoming trapped between the carriages.

Fire and ambulance crews saved the woman using a rescue board. She was taken to hospital but did not suffer any serious injuries.
