CHESTERFIELD: Town theme for flower arranger’s demonstration

Chesterfield Flower Lovers Club members were welcomed to the summer meeting by the chairman Sandra Jones, who announced the death of Bessie Wilcocks. Her funeral was attended by Anne Queen. Ada Fawthrop donated Bessie’s flower arranging books to the sales table run by Dawn Hotchkiss and Molly Johnson.

The vice-chairman Sandra Parker, announced the new luncheon will be held on January 7 in the Proact Stadium.

Sandra Jones introduced the demonstrator Elizabeth Murray from Congleton, whose theme was ‘An Ode to Chesterfield’; the arrangements were the raffle prizes. Tickets were sold by Elaine Carney.

A vote of thanks was given to Elizabeth by Pauline Priest.

Photos of the arrangements for the club album were taken by Avril Clay.

The next meeting will be held in the Winding Wheel on October 1, at 2.15pm. Visitors welcome.
