There is still time to nominate the real community heroes in our area in the Derbyshire Times Pride of Chesterfield Awards.
We have kicked off the search to find the indidviduals and organisations who go the extra mile to put a smile on the faces of others.
There are 12 categories, as well as the overall winner, and DT readers can nominate people in the following categories:
The categories are:
l Young fundraiser
l Emergency services
l Environment champion
l Community spirit – sponsored by Chesterfield College
l Outstanding bravery
l Sporting achievement
l Business community
l Child of courage – sponsored by Banner Jones Solicitors
l Community group – sponsored by Chesterfield Borough Council
l Fundraiser of the Year
l Inspiring personality (individual) of the year
l Neighbour of the year
l Overall winner – sponsored by Heat Guard
This year, the overall awards are sponsored by Heat Guard – ‘the local company you can trust’ – with the support of several other Chesterfield businesses that also care about the people in our communities.
Derbyshire Times editor James Mitchinson said: “The awards are an excellent initiative.
“We are so pleased and proud that they have become such an established and well-loved event in the town.”
