A Chesterfield charity shop which closed last month following a fire is set to reopen.

The Save the Children store was forced to shut after the blaze caused smoke damage and a loss of stock.

The Stephenson Place shop will reopen at 10am on Friday – after generous folk stepped in with donations.

Julia Hall, regional manager for the East Midlands at Save the Children, said: “I

would like to thank the generous members of the public who kindly donated such an incredible array of items that we have now used to restock the store.

“We are extremely grateful for the public’s generosity and invite everyone to the store on Friday to celebrate the reopening of what has now become a centrepiece of the Chesterfield community.”

The fire was not suspcious.
