The Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution is preparing for another busy month of fund raising for the work of the Lifeboats in July.

On Sunday, July 14, there will be an open gardens event at the homes of Janet and Peter Wright and Stephen Wright, at 257 and 261 Chesterfield Road, Temple Normanton.

The gardens will be open from 1pm to 5pm, there will be a raffle, refreshments will be available, and the R.N.L.I. souvenir stall will also be in attendance. Admission is only £2 per person.

All monies raised will be donated to the appeal for funds for a new tractor and launching trailer for the new All Weather Shannon Class Lifeboat to be stationed at Ilfracombe, North Devon from next year, which will replace the present Mersey class Lifeboat ‘Spirit of Derbyshire’ which was funded by donations from the people of Derbyshire over 20 years ago.
