CHESTERFIELD: RNLI branch’s Flag Day takings down on previous years

Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution held their Flag Day in Chesterfield Town Centre and Vicar Lane Shopping on Saturday, with members and friends busy collecting throughout the day.

Tony Dale, the branch souvenir secretary, ably assisted by son Mark, was in Vicar Lane Shopping with the sales stall full of souvenirs, and doing a good trade.

Sadly, the Flag Day did not raise as much as in previous years, with slightly under £800 being realised as a result of the efforts of the volunteers. Thanks go to them, to the management and staff of Vicar Lane Shopping for all their help and support, and to the members of the public for their donations for the work of the Lifeboats.
