A CHESTERFIELD man has been given an ASBO for shoplifting and abusive behaviour.
Ian Watson, 26, of Chester Street, was given the three year court order by magistrates until February 23, 2015.
He is banned from:
Acting or encourage others to act in a manner that causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to anyone he doesn’t live with in the Borough of Chesterfield.
Entering the Co-Op on Elder Way, Singhs Off Licence, Derby Road, or any Tesco Extra store within the Borough of Chesterfield.
Be in possession of any open vessel containing alcohol in any public place.
Officers from the Holmebrook and Rother Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team worked together with the Chesterfield Community Safety Partnership to apply for the order.
Police can arrest Watson if he is found breaching the ASBO, and he would be brought before the court and could face jail.
Police Sgt. Les Rawson of the Chesterfield Community Safety Partnership said: “Mr Watson is now suffering the consequences of his own actions.
“The order was obtained with the support of Chesterfield Borough Council who we work closely in partnership with and demonstrates the commitment of the partnership to target those who commit anti-social behaviour and to keep our town safe.”
Anyone who sees Watson breaching the conditions of the Anti-Social Behaviour can report it to Derbyshire police by calling 101, the non-emergency number, or Chesterfield Borough Council on 01246 345345. In an emergency dial 999.
