A breast cancer survivor is urging people to join her during a sponsored swimathon for Chesterfield Royal Hospital’s cancer unit.

Jo Taylor, 45, of Chesterfield, aims to complete lengths of Nuffield gym’s pool, off Derby Road, Chesterfield, on September 26, with other swimmers to reach a target of 9,000metres. She said the 9,000metres represents the 9,000 cancer patients being treated in Derbyshire at any one time. Jo wants people to donate cakes to help boost refreshments. Nuffield members and non-members can enter on the day at £5 for adults and £2.50 for childrenn. Email Jo at jayandjot@hotmail.co.uk for details.
