CHESTERFIELD: Family history society members’ research

Chesterfield

History

Chesterfield and District Family History Society held its February meeting at St Hugh’s RC Church, Littlemoor.

The proposed talk by Domonic Johnson entitled “Peering into the Past” was cancelled due to the snow.

Members and guests were instead invited to pose questions to members of the committee about their family history research. They were then able to use the society’s resources (library, microfiche records of census returns etc) to pursue their own research.

Raffle prizes were won by Margaret Linacre and John Bradley.

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 5, when Bob Massey will give a talk entitled “Moving from Place to Place, a History of Transport of People and Goods”.

Details of the society and its programme for 2013 can be found on www.cadfhs.org.uk
