A family fun day at the Proact Stadium in Chesterfield was a big hit with residents.
The free event, hosted by Rykneld Homes, who manage the housing stock for North East Derbyshire District Council, was attended by over 400 council tenants during the Easter break.
Children took part in football coaching, an Extreme Wheels mobile skate and BMX park, mini tennis and cheerleading taster sessions plus tours of the Stadium.
There was also plenty for the grown-ups to enjoy including DIY workshops, IT training and lots of advice and guidance to help with money problems, energy saving, training and employment.
Nigel Barker, Chair of Rykneld Homes, said: “The tenant Family Fun Day was a fantastic success. It was great to see so many take part in the activities, from cheerleading to DIY! It was also an important opportunity for people to find out about the services Rykneld Homes offer and we were able to signpost many to partner organisations for topics such as welfare benefits, healthy lifestyles and money management.”
Other local supporting agencies attended, including the Credit Union, Adult Education, Derbyshire Unemployed Workers Centre, Chesterfield Law Centre and the Federation of North East Derbyshire Tenants and Residents.
