A distraction burglary took place at Boythorpe Road, Chesterfield between 9.30pm and 9.45pm on Tuesday, June 25.
A woman knocked of the door of the 73-year-old victim’s house and said she had a parcel for her neighbour and could the victim sign for it.
She then entered the property without the victim’s consent and walked through to the kitchen and asked the victim for a pen to write down the details of the package for the neighbour.
The woman then keeps the victim talking in the kitchen for several minutes while the front door is left open.
The woman then leaves and as they walk back to the front door the victim sees a man walking out of the living room and out of the house.
The man and woman are seen running off together up Boythorpe Road.
The woman was white with a pale complexion, of slim build, late teens to early 20s, around 5ft tall, with dark hair tied up and weating a pink top. The man was white, in his early 20s and wearing a white baseball cap and white t-shirt.
It is being linked to a similar distraction burglaries in the area.
