The match will take place on Sunday November 20 at Matlock Town’s Causeway Lane ground in aid of Wayne Partridge and the foundation set up in his name.

The 39-year-old Spireites fan was rushed into hospital in June of this year after doctors discovered he had several brain tumours and he is currently undergoing intensive treatment.

Wayne’s friend, Simon Jones, who is organising the game, said: “Wayne has been unable to work since his diagnosis and his friends and family want to support him and his young family in any way they can.

“Wayne is a keen sports fan especially football so we have arranged a football match involving a team of ‘local legends’ from Matlock Town FC versus an ‘All-stars’ team.

The game kicks off at 2pm and entry will be free.
