CHESTERFIELD: Bill Preston wins Bill Taylor Golf Trophy competition

President Andy Matthews chaired the weekly meeting of The Rotary Club of Chesterfield Scarsdale held at Chesterfield Golf Club on September 26 with 34 members present.

Secretary Past President Clive Robbins advised the club of the death of Mrs Iris Husband who was the widow of Past President Harry Husband, a founder of this club in early 1981 and she supported him during his leadership of the club in many areas of Rotary Service in those early years. She was also an active member of the Scarsdale Inner Wheel Club.

Earlier in the day the club held the Bill Taylor Golf Trophy event at the golf club and the winner was Rtn Bill Preston. President Andy thanked past president Brian Harrison for the organisation and success of the event.

Past president Derrick Willmot reminded members that articles for the club bulletin are required by early October.

Past president George Ling organised the monthly Foundation Draw and winners were John Coker, Henry Marsh, John Hall.
