Chatsworth is top 10 UK must see

A Peak District attraction has been named one of the top places to visit in the UK on a leading tourism website.

Chatsworth House came ninth in the country’s top ten landmarks category of the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Attractions awards

The winners are based on millions of reviews and opinions from travellers around the world.

The Duke of Devonshire said: “We’re absolutely delighted with this award, particularly as it comes from visitors themselves.

“There is always something new and interesting for visitors to enjoy here and the whole team works really hard to make Chatsworth a great place to visit.

“It’s great that their efforts have been recognised by our visitors.”

The 16th Century house, which has a 1000 acre park, has been home to the Cavendish family since 1549 and a firm favourite with visitors to the Peak District from all over the world for decades.

Angus Struthers, of TripAdvisor, commented: “These awards honour the world’s best attractions as decided by those who matter most – travellers themselves.

“With schools about the break for the summer holidays in a matter of weeks, these Travellers’ Choice Attractions winners are sure to be on the to do list.”
