A BIG-HEARTED writing group have raised £1000 for a children’s ward by writing and selling an anthology of their works.
Quirky Quills writers compiled a collection of short stories and poems which were sold to raise money for the Nightingale Ward at the Royal Hospital, Chesterfield.
The money will be used to provide extra toys and books for children during their stay in hospital.
Ann Lloyd, a writer with the group, said: “It is very important for the hospital to provide an environment that is as near to home as possible for the children to make a speedy recovery.”
Quirky Quills meet every Monday from 2pm to 4pm at Chesterfield Library.
