A Dales charity has shipped out hundreds of lifesaving kits to third world countries.
Aquabox, a project of the Rotary Club of Wirksworth, dispatched 700 of its water purifying kits.
Five hundred were destined for Turkey to give aid to refugees from Syria, and a further 200 for Africa, 100 of which are for Rwanda.
Each box contains a water filter capable of producing at least 20,000 litres of safe drinking water, plus up to 70 items of humanitarian aid, including a tarpaulin and tools to fabricate a shelter and hygiene equipment.
The latest shipment cost the charity £71,000. For more information on Aquabox, visit www.aquabox.org
