Charitable Co-operative members keep it local

GENEROUS shoppers in Buxton have helped provide a welcome boost to a local community group.

Co-operative members have donated a grant of £1,560 to Peak Visually Impaired People to cover their costs of group travel throughout the year.

The group received the cash boost from The Co-operative’s Community Fund, a pot of money accumulated by member customers opting to donate all or part of their annual dividend to good causes in the area.

Elizabeth Martin, from Peak Visually Impaired People, said: “The cash has made a huge difference to our group, and it means all the more knowing that the money has been donated by local people.”
