FIREFIGHTERS helped free a female casualty after she became trapped in a car following a collision with a bus.

The collision happened on the A619 road, at Bakewell, about 11.05am, on Tuesday, June 19, between a Toyota Starlet car and a TM Travel bus.

A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said: “One female was trapped by her injuries in the car but no one on the bus was injured.

“The casualty was taken to hospital by ambulance.”

Police said the collision only involved minor injuries but the area had to be sealed off until about 1.40pm because of a fuel spillage.
