Three fire crews were called to the rescue when a woman fell in a reservoir over the Easter weekend.

Firefighters from Buxton, Chapel–en–le–Frith and Matlock attended Fernilee Reservoir, in the Goyt Valley, at 12.30pm on Saturday.

On arrival, they found that a passerby had already pulled the woman from the icy waters.

The firefighters performed first aid on the two members of the public.

A water rescue boat and equipment were used to take the female casualty back over the lake to an air ambulance.

She was then flown to safety.

The fire crews left the scene at approximately 2.30pm.
