Car rolls onto dry stone wall in Parsley Hay

A 26-year-old man has been airlifted to hospital after his car rolled over onto a dry stone wall in Parsley Hay on Friday.

The two-car collision, involving a Ford Ka and a Land Rover Defender happened at about 12pm on the A515, near Custard Fields Farm between Monyash and Newhaven.

Fire crews from Buxton and Longnor assisted Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service and East Midlands Ambulance Service in extricating the patient from the vehicle and assessing his injuries.

The casualty was treated for a head injury before being airlifted to University Hospital of North Staffordshire for further assessment.

The air ambulance can fly patients to hospital approximately four times faster than a journey by road, saving them crucial time.
