Two men have been arrested on suspicion of producing an explosive - after a device was found in Calow.
On Friday, November 9 at 9.35pm, police were called to an address on Church Lane after a ‘suspicious device’ was found outside a property.
A number of houses were evacuated as a precaution and an evacuation centre was set up at Calow Primary School.
Bomb disposal officers carried out a controlled explosion of the device which was recovered for forensic examination.
Residents were allowed back to their homes on Saturday, November 10 at 12.20am, after the device had been made safe.
A 40-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of producing an explosive and were released on police bail pending further enquiries.
