The choir, which is run by Buxton Festival and Buxton Opera House, is aimed at adult singers of all levels and offers a great chance join a group and sing a wide range of songs.

Led by Local Vocals teacher Carol Bowns, the singers meets every other Tuesday in the Pavilion Arts Centre, at the opera house, from 1pm to 2pm and once a month on Monday evenings from 7pm to 8pm upstairs in the Old Club House, on Water Street.

Each session costs £3.50, payable at the opera house box office or on the door on arrival at the Pavilion Arts Centre or Old Club House.

The next Tuesday lunchtime session is March 4, and the next Monday evening session March 10.

Claire Barlow said: ‘It was great to see so many of our choir members return to rehearsals this month after our winter break but there is always room for new members and now is a great time to join as we start to rehearse the songs for our fringe concert in July. There are no auditions and everyone is welcome.” To book a place, call 0845 1272190.
