MANAGING Director of Franke Sissons Andy Dukelow has been named as an East Midlands Apprenticeship Champion in the regional final of the National Apprenticeship Awards and National Training Awards 2012.

The finalists and winners were announced at a ceremony organised by the National Apprenticeship Service at the Pera Conference Centre, in Leicestershire, last month.

Chesterfield’s Franke Sissons is part of the international Franke Group. The Chesterfield company embraces a proactive and successful apprenticeship programme.

Andy, who began as an apprentice at Franke Sissons, said: “It’s wonderful we’ve been recognised but the real thanks goes to our apprentices for their enthusiasm and commitment. Encouraging youngsters in vocational paid training is important. I’m delighted to be championing the apprenticeships regionally.”

Franke Sissons currently has apprentices in sales support, mechanical engineering, fabrication and welding and design. The National Training Awards and the National Apprenticeship Awards are overseen by the National Apprenticeship Service and celebrate the achievements of the most outstanding apprenticeship employers and apprentices. All the East Midlands winners proceed through to a national final.
