Two innovative brothers have hit the right note - launching a high class music-themed clothes shop.

Steve, 24, and Mark Barnes, 21, of the new Harbet Sands fashion shop, on Lordsmill Street, Chesterfield, opened their new store following business success with their sister company Tipi and Kata which provides tipis for music festivals and events.

Mark said: “We have been working in the music and events industry for a couple of years now and wanted to incorporate this passion into our new clothing brand Harbet Sands.

“People are visiting the new shop and leaving with a smile and a positive impression. Younger generations absolutely love it.”

The store, across from Beetwell Street, opened in November and initial sales have already exceeded expectations. Steve and Mark have been running Tipi and Kata for about two years and have been involved in organising wedding entertainments, parties, music festivals, country fairs but after recognising a strong link between music and fashion they have also opened a fashion shop.

The store offers quality male and female fashion clothing including T-shirts, hoodies, vest tops, sweaters, jumpers, coats, gillets and accessories such as hats and fragrances with the Harbet Sands brand and parking.

They are also planning to hold a music festival in 2014 and they aim to give up-and-coming bands and performers a chance to audition for a slot.
