DELIGHTED staff at a popular supermarket in Staveley have been celebrating the store’s 30th anniversary.
The supermarket, on Barnfield Close, was opened in April, 1982, and still boasts seven of its original staff including Jane Bird, Helen Ruck, Lorraine Evans, Irene Burton, Jeanette Trewick, David Johnson and Martin Simovic.
General manager Tony Sherlock said: “We’ve served thousands of customers and without their support the last 30 years wouldn’t have been possible.
“This anniversary also gives me the opportunity to thank the seven staff who have worked here since it opened.”
Store colleague Glenys Woodhead was also recognised after she has worked for Morrisons for nearly 35 years.
The supermarket, which has 282 employees, has had 13 general managers including the late Brian Midgley who was with the company 40 years and was based at Staveley for 15 years.
