DERBYSHIRE’S Scoobyclinic - the UK’s largest independent Subaru specialists - has turned round the fortunes of the RAF’s Help for Heroes rally team.

The Subaru specialists, based at Nether Farm, Stubbing Close, Wingerworth, were approached by the RAF charity team for help and improved their personal best of a sixth place finish to a winning victory with a new car.

Scoobyclinic boss Kev Knight said: “The RAF guys asked us what would be the best way forward with their car and we pointed out there was no way forward with that particular vehicle so we built them a new one from a bare shell in just 12 weeks.”

Their first roll out with the new car was during an MSA Asphalt Rally event at the Brecon Hills and saw them take a respectable 16th place out of over 140 cars including world class competition.

Mr Knight explained the team has finished a wonderful season in second place in the B13 class of the MSA National Asphalt Championship and is it now in contention for next year’s top honour.

Scoobyclinic, which services all manner of Subarus, also has one of the fastest drag Subarus in Europe which can reach 0-60mph in under two seconds. The specialists build and maintain winning cars for teams including DP Racing and for Wingerworth driver Vaughan Fletcher’s race Impreza.
