More than 2,000 people visited a Hope Valley business during an open day held to celebrate their 85th birthday.

Hope Construction Materials’ Hope Works hosted visitors from across the local area and beyond who enjoyed a closer look at the quarry and were also able to enjoy a steam train ride.

Children were entertained by stilt walkers, face painting and donkey rides.

Ashley Bryan, Hope Construction Materials’ Industrial Director, said: “We were not lucky with the weather but despite this, the event was a big success and we are delighted so many people came along.”
