A NEW forum for manufacturing and engineering businesses in Chesterfield and North Derbyshire is being launched.

The forum, organised by marketing team Destination Chesterfield, will be led by manufacturing and engineering businesses acting as a voice for the sector and will be chaired by United Cast Bar MD James Brand.

The first event takes place from 8.30am, on January 10, and is open to manufacturing or engineering businesses.

This regular forum will give businesses the opportunity to discuss the latest developments, share best practice, and to work together to address issues.

The first event includes an update on the Regional Growth Funding that is available to Chesterfield businesses.

Mr Brand, who is also a Destination Chesterfield board member, said: “It’s important the manufacturing industry works together to ensure they have a collective voice and can influence and benefit from regional opportunities for business growth, funding and training.”

Destination Chesterfield chairman Peter Swallow said the manufacturing is a priority. Chesterfield or North Derbyshire manufacturing or engineering firms must email dominic.stevens@dncc.co.uk to reserve places.
