Life-saving first-aid business offer
News
FIRST-aid trainer St John Ambulance has cut the cost of a vital piece of emergency medical equipment in a bid to encourage more Derbyshire businesses and organisations to help save lives.
St John Ambulance wants to see more automated external defibrillators at businesses and locations like doctors, leisure facilities and shopping centres where they could save someone’s life if their heart stops beating.
To coincide with National Heart Month in February, St John Ambulance has introduced a new price for a defibrillator to save lives after a cardiac arrest and comprehensive training for up to eight people for £1,695.

Mel Fox, Midlands Regional Director for commercial training at St John Ambulance, said: “St John Ambulance believes no one should die because of a lack of first aid. The survival rate increases by more than 50per cent if an AED is used within the first four minutes, so immediate defibrillation could be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.
“The more AEDs located throughout the county means more lives can be saved.”
AED training and requalification courses can be delivered through St John Ambulance’s training centres in the Midlands, including Chesterfield, Matlock, Buxton and Derby.
