High Speed Rail plan could bring huge cash boost

DERBYSHIRE and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce has welcomed the Government go-ahead for the first phase of a high-speed rail network to boost business.

The first phase of High Speed Two rail line will run between London and Birmingham and the chamber hopes this will lead to the go-ahead for the second phase with a Y-shaped track including the East Midlands and reaching Manchester and Leeds. It is hoped the link could unlock huge financial benefits.
