Help name the county’s business stars

The best in Derbyshire business will once again be recognised in the fifth annual Derbyhire Times Business Awards.

We need your nominations to help us name the cream of the crop at the glittering bash, on November 21 at the Proact Stadium.

Sponsoring the Business Personality of the Year award is acoustic technology manufacturer, TMAT. Managing Director, Jason Lippitt was named business personality of the year in last year’s awards.

The company, who recently reported a year-on-year sales growth of six per cent are based on Park Road, Holmewood and work to reduce noise for machinery and vehicles.

Another sponsor, Creative Deryshire are this year backing the Creative Innovation Award. The programme supports creative and arts businesses in the region to help foster a creative economy in the county. Manager of the scheme, Jane Brown, said: “Creative Derbyshire understands that local creative businesses are vital to the development of the local economy. We are delighted to be supporting the Creative Innovation Award which showcases some of the best businesses in Derbyshire and demonstrates our region is capable of competing on a regional, national and global stage.

The Customer Service Award is this year backed by Chesterfield-based Franke Sissons, who offer range of stainless steel and composite sanitaryware that includes hospital sanitary fittings, pod urinals, slab urinals, WCs, prison and security sanitation units, washbasins and washroom accessories.

Victoria Himsworth, the company’s product marketing manager, said: “Although we have sponsored this award a number times of before, we are still a firm believer that having Customer Service is at the heart of everything a business does will be fundamental to the success of it. We have a true customer service philosophy at Franke Sissons. It has been the focus of all we have done, embraces all who work here and as a result has brought us success.”

The other categories this year are: Business Idea of the Year, Employer of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Young Business Person of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Team of the Year, Community Contribution of the Year, Apprentice of the Year, New Business of the Year, Professional Services Award, Retailer of the Year, Lifetime Achievement and Business of the Year.
